Kobra and the Lotus - Prevail I
Canadian heavy metal outfit Kobra and the Lotus are set to unleash their latest effort, 'Prevail I' on May 12th via Napalm Records. For those already in the know, this is a much-anticipated release following 2014's 'High Priestess" and 2016's covers EP, 'Words of the Prophets.'
With this album, the title 'Prevail' represents so much for Kobra and the Lotus. The band spent a good portion of 2016 recording this double album after cutting their supporting tour of 'High Priestess' short following a hugely successful opening slot for KISS and Def Leppard in 2014. Now, Kobra and the Lotus are back with thier most mature sound to date. The album's first three tracks have each been individually released as a single over the last several months. The album kicks off with "Gotham," a not-so-obvious ode to the home town of Batman. While the album is packed with excitement and hard, driving riff, the real breakthrough takes place with "You Don't Know." This is far and away, the most likely track to get picked up by radio. They're hardly playing it safe, but Kobra Paige's chorus line is one we can all connect with as she belts out "You don't know what it's like, to be me!"
Several other standout tracks on the album include "Manifest Destiny," "Hell on Earth" and "Prevail." Go check this album out the first chance you can! If you're new to Kobra and the Lotus, there's a plethora of material to hold you over while you wait for the album's release!

Full Press Release:
It's been three years since Kobra And The Lotus' last studio album High Priestess was released back in 2014. The time since has not been wasted, with their third album under their belt, and completing multiple tours worldwide (with the likes of Kamelot, Sonata Arctica and Demon Hunter to name a few), their path of self-discovery has led them to this most important moment in their career. Prevail I, the band's latest offering, is a rock juggernaut full of blistering guitars, pounding rhythms and haunting vocal melodies that will take the listener on a sonic journey leading them out from the darkness and into the light. Produced by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe, Epica etc) and mastered by Grammy award winning Ted Jensen, and featuring the soon to be classic songs “You Don’t Know” and “Light Me Up” that will undoubtedly usher the band to much deserved elevated hard rock status. Evolution is inevitable and Kobra And The Lotus have delivered their most powerful album to date, Prevail I, with Prevail II to complete the story in the not too distant future...
