Huntress: Jill Janus Interview

I had the immense pleasure of speaking with Huntress front-woman Jill Janus earlier today.

Huntress is on the verge of embarking on a major tour in support of Trivium and Sabaton with a smattering of headlining dates throughout. Additionally, Huntress will perform on September 24th as part of an excellent Ozzfest lineup in San Bernadino, CA including Black Sabbath, Disturbed and Megadeth!

Having followed Huntress for the last several years; they are easily considered one of the hardest working bands in metal right now. They have maintained an almost relentless schedule of touring and recording over the last four years, resulting in the release of three albums (2012's Spell Eater, 2013's Starbound Beast and 2015's Static). All the while, Huntress have been performing around the world in major festivals and supporting some of the biggest bands in metal including Arch Enemy, Danzig, Black Label Society and Amon Amarth.

Jill also gave some insight on two very impromptu and unique on-stage moments singing with both Amon Amarth and Amon Amarth.

This upcoming tour is bound to be extremely exciting. We plan on providing full coverage of their show in Binghamton, NY on October 15th. Check out the dates below to see if Huntress will be invading a city near you this fall!

Huntress released their buzzworthy debut album Spell Eater in 2012 on Napalm Records. One year later in 2013, the critically-acclaimed Starbound Beast was a sophomore success. Lemmy Kilmister penned lyrics for “I Want To Fuck You To Death” which quickly became a radio hit. Their third album Static was released on September 25, 2015 to stellar reviews. Huntress continues to be driven by a fierce work ethic and a relentless tour schedule. This fall they’ll tour with Trivium and Sabaton, and making a stop in San Bernardino to play Ozzfest on Sept 24th.
